SDCC 2017: DC Extended Universe Panel & Justice League Trailer!

Traditionally Saturdays are when the most anticipate movie and television panels take over Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con and this year is no different. The festivities began with the Warner Bros. Pictures Presents panel. The panel included Ready Player One, Bladerunner 2049, but the DC Extended Universe is what stole the show showcasing both Aquaman and Justice League.

The DCEU began with a sizzle reel with the words, “Where wonder awaits, where justice prevails, where good battles evil, from Gotham to Atlantis, Metropolis to Apokolips, Krypton to Themyscira and beyond, welcome to the worlds of DC.” That was followed by multiple logos (some of which are clearly place holders) for upcoming films including Shazam, Suicide Squad 2, The Batman, Justice League Dark, Batgirl, Green Lantern Corps (using art from the comics of Hal Jordan and John Stewart), The Flash — followed by a Flashpoint logo (is DC pulling that trigger so soon?), and finally, Wonder Woman II.

Jason Momoa then joined, from the audience — and with trident in hand — to talk Aquaman.
“The king is here,” Momoa proclaimed.  experience.”

A message from Wan — filming in Australia currently — was shown, and mix of concept art and comic book illustrations were shown to accompany his words.
“In a lot of ways this is an origin story, so I want the audience to experience Atlantis the first time Aquaman experiences it as well.”
— James Wan
“This is the reason for the theatrical"

A short sequence from the film was then shown with two older men on a fishing boat then discovering Atlantean ships, followed by a shot of the world of Atlantis. Then, Arthur Curry holding a sword, talking to someone not shown and preparing to fight ending with a shot of the logo.

Once the Aquaman segment ended Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash) dressed as Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) joined Momoa on stage to talk Justice League, to a cover version of “Come Together.”

“How many people get a chance in their life to come to Hall H and say, ‘I’m Batman’?”
— Ben Affleck
